I really like the fully modeled valve guides, which aren't rendered as carefully on diecast models.
Posing with an express/mail train on a test run before heading back to the bench for some weathering efforts. Once it looks the part, it will spend most of its time dragging less glamorous assignments.
Cruising through town past my latest building.
The new building out there to the right of Greenbrook Terminal Warehouse is the new 'CR Wilsonesque' complex.
Heading into the cut.
Here's a quick video of it after the installation of the Cruise Commander. I've still yet to add sound.

beautiful shots as usual. like the new look of the blog as well. can you please share your lighting secrets? looks just like you took the pictures outdoors in real sunlight! all the best, bfishma
Brenner, thanks! My layout lighting consists of 50W halogen spots, 60W (equivalent, soft white) daylight CFLs, and some 50W incandescent floods. The CFLs are starting to replace the halogens and the results can be seen in these photos.
Hi Norm,
I am looking into picking one of these up and adding the cruise commander. Would you recommend this engine? Is it a good runner?
Thanks,
Robby Folsom
Robby, this engine is a great runner, especially with the Cruise Commander installed. It's definitely worth adding this steamer to your roster. I believe this is one of the first 3rd Rails with the Quiet Drive setup and it's got a nice gear ratio.
I am waiting on delivery of a RS board for it. When I get it installed, I'll shoot a new video of it.
Nice shots of the former great city. Your modelling isgreat, too!
